Our Nursery room caters for our 2 -3 years age group. The ratio for this age group is 4 children to 1 adult.
When a child starts Nursery they will be assigned a Key worker. Group activities are held throughout the day, planned and implemented by your child's key worker. Your child's Key worker is always available to answer any of your questions. On the first day at Nursery We ask parents to provide nappies, nappy wipes and nappy sacks in a clearly named bag. If your child is toilet training we ask that you pack spare underwear and a change of clothes to be kept in case of any little accidents. The staff working with this age group have helped many parents to toilet train their children and will be happy to offer advice in this process. We record all toilet activities in the Nursery so we can keep parents informed as to how they are progressing.
If you wish to bring your own drink please provide only water in a clearly named drinking bottle. We do have access to drinking water throughout the day and also an offer of milk at snack times. If your child is staying to lunch please pack a healthy lunch (no nuts or nut content please). Please also includean ice pack.
All children have a learning journal in their own named drawer. The learning journal includes observations and photos of activities and special moments at Nursery and your child's learning goals and Early Years Foundation Stage progress reports. You can access these at any time and add any comments or achievements of your own. These will be given to you at the end of your child's' time at Rainbow.
